Import your Zotero or Mendeley library (BibTeX, RIS) into Vite Research

Vite Research is not a reference manager. It imports what yours exports, keeps the web sources they handle poorly, and exports a .bib file back.

What to export

Zotero: select items or a collection, right-click, Export Items, choose BibTeX or RIS.
Mendeley Reference Manager: select references, File, Export, BibTeX or RIS.
EndNote, Paperpile, databases: any RIS or BibTeX export works; CSV with a URL column works too.

Import

Open the Library in Vite Research and click Import.
Choose the .bib, .ris, .csv or bookmarks .html file.
Each entry becomes a source card. Entries with a URL are fetched and snapshotted; entries without one keep their metadata and can be cited but not verified.

What you get that the reference manager did not keep

A stored copy of each web page with a hash, change monitoring, quotes and highlights attached to the source, and a public permalink per source. Formatting stays compatible: the Cite dialog gives APA 7, MLA 9 and Chicago, and the bibliography export is BibTeX, so your LaTeX or Zotero workflow continues.

What stays in your reference manager

PDF storage and annotation, word-processor plugins and thousands of citation styles. Zotero also reads RSS feeds; if you use it for that, the feed addresses on this site work there as well.
