arXiv RSS feeds: categories, combined feeds and daily digests
arXiv publishes an official feed for every one of its 155 categories. How the addresses are built, how to combine categories, when the feeds update, and why an empty feed is normal.
The address pattern
arXiv's help page gives the rule: append the category to https://rss.arxiv.org/rss/ for RSS or https://rss.arxiv.org/atom/ for Atom. Examples: rss.arxiv.org/rss/cs for all of computer science, rss.arxiv.org/rss/cs.AI for artificial intelligence, rss.arxiv.org/rss/math.QA for quantum algebra.
Combined feeds
Join categories with a plus sign: rss.arxiv.org/rss/cs.AI+cs.LG+stat.ML. The limit is 2,000 results per feed. The arXiv feed builder on this site composes the address for you from the category list.
When feeds update
Feeds are refreshed once a day at midnight US Eastern time, after the daily announcement. On days without announcements (weekends and arXiv holidays) the feed is served empty; that is expected, not a broken feed. Our own check on a Sunday returned a valid but empty feed.
Reading arXiv in Vite Research
Add the category feed in Discover. Each item links to the abstract page; highlight the abstract with the extension, or save the page to the Library to keep a snapshot and a citation. For full texts, open the PDF from the abstract page in your PDF reader; Vite Research highlights web pages, not PDFs.
