Content hash (SHA-256)

Definition

A fixed-length fingerprint computed from a file's bytes. Two identical files have the same hash; one changed character changes it completely, which is how a snapshot can be verified later.

In Vite Research

Every snapshot in the Library carries a SHA-256 hash; Verify integrity recomputes it.
